Professor Irwin Cotler

Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the UN Declaration of Human Rights and the
UN Genocide Convention

Professor Irwin Cotler is an internationally   acclaimed human rights lawyer from Canada and has been a leading player in Canada’s reconciliation with the indigenous Indian population, is Chair of the Canadian National Conference on Aboriginal Rights and has served as counsel to human rights activists including Natan Sharansky, Andrei Sakharov and Nelson Mandela.

He has been a regular Visiting Professor at Harvard Law School, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and has received Honorary Doctorates from various Universities.
